Suspicious device found at a Toronto airport has been disarmed and 2 people are in custody, authorities say.
Toronto police confirmed that the items found in the baggage area of Pearson International Airport Thursday “were a suspicious device and suspected illegal drugs.”
No one was charged, Sgt. Stephen Laroche said in a news release. There’s no word on what the items were and what they were specifically meant to do.
Police seized the items from the baggage scanner and removed them from the airport.
The airport says it is undergoing an immediate security review.
Police say they were treating the find as a false alarm.
