Santa Ana Winds to Be the Most frequent Wind Event during March in Southern CA

More Santa Ana winds to bring extreme wildfire risk to Southern California this weekend

Winds generated by Santa Ana winds to be the most frequent wind event during March in Southern CA. They will affect Southern California, as well as the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys.

Santa Ana winds will bring moderate winds to the South Bay and the Santa Ana Mountains on Saturday, March 16. Winds will be a bit stronger on Saturday, March 23 at 2:48 PM. Winds will be a bit stronger on Sunday, April 3 at 3:12 PM. In all, Santa Ana winds will affect Southern California, as well as the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys.

A weak Santa Ana to Central Valley Front is forecast to produce a stormy evening, with rain, strong winds, lightening and hail showers (particularly in the San Francisco Bay area) in the South Bay, Ventura and Los Angeles regions (California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) on Friday, March 15 at 9:26 PM. A strong Santa Ana to Central Valley Front is forecast to produce rain, wind and occasional showers in the South Bay, Ventura and Los Angeles regions (California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) on Saturday, March 16 at 3:48 PM.

Wind is expected to increase the threat of fire danger, especially in the South Bay, Ventura and Los Angeles regions (California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) on the night of March 16-17, and to a lesser degree, on March 23-24, as Santa Ana winds reach their maximum strength in the South Bay, Santa Ana Mountains and Los Angeles Bay on the night of March 16. The fire danger from Santa Ana winds is expected to increase in the South Bay, Santa Ana Mountains and Los Angeles Bay on the night of March 16-17, due to an increase in fire danger in the Southern California region from the strongest Santa Ana winds of the year.

Strong Santa Ana winds are forecast to produce little or no rain or lightening between March 23 and March
