Brett Gardner hit a two-run homer during a four-run fourth inning, and Martin Prado added a two-run shot to lift the New York Yankees to a 6-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday to pull even in the American League Division Series.
Game 3 of the series is Friday in Boston.

After a Derek Jeter RBI single and two more Boston errors in the fourth gave the Yankees a 6-2 lead, the Red Sox got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on Hanley Ramirez’s home run to cut their deficit to 6-3.

The two teams will have a break before the second contest of the series Friday night at Fenway Park. If a tie game is needed, Game 5 will be Saturday night at Yankee Stadium. Game 6, if necessary, will take place next Thursday at Fenway Park, and Game 7 will be played at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 13.
