Novak Djokovic defeats Stefanos Tsitsipas in Astana Open final to win his 90th career ATP title

The 2017 season has been perhaps the most memorable one thus far, with Novak Djokovic winning his 100th match on clay this year – a record-equalling year for him! He played his fifth Wimbledon title and came away with his 40th ATP Tour title, coming through a rain-interrupted semi-final against Andreas Berdroga, before a dramatic comeback in the final against Stefanos Tsitsipas. He now looks like the most dominant figure on the Tour, having also won his 90th career singles match on tour – a record-breaking year for him.

Djokovic, who has recorded an astonishing 100 wins in 2017 on clay, claimed his 40th ATP Tour title in Madrid and his 85th ATP match on the red clay in Madrid which is the longest winning streak by any player in the Open era, with his streak standing longer than that held by Jimmy Connors, Rod Laver, and Bjorn Borg. In 2017, Djokovic has now won at least one ATP Tour title every season from 2014-17, and has claimed back to back titles for the first time ever, after his title wins in Madrid in April and in London in June. His win in the Miami Open has set another milestone for the Serbian as he now has 80 ATP Tour titles on the red clay.

Djokovic won the Miami Open title on his first attempt in 2006, his fourth ATP title of the season. He then went on to claim three more titles in singles before claiming a record-breaking fourth ATP title in 2010 in Istanbul, and two ATP titles in 2013 in Rome and at home in Bercy in June 2016.
